Clinical Integration: Shortness of Breath

Module Goal

To understand how to use point of care ultrasound techniques to assist with the diagnosis and management of shortness of breath in the hospitalized medicine patient.

Target Audience

Providers in any practice setting looking to incorporate point of care ultrasound into patient care in any acute care setting (Physicians, NP, PA, RN, trainees).

Module Learning Objectives
  1. Review which POCUS exams are useful for patients with shortness of breath
  2. Conceptualize a systematic approach for utilizing POCUS for patients with shortness of breath
  3. Integrate POCUS findings into clinical context to modify differential diagnoses and inform treatment options for patients with shortness of breath
